Churches and Religious Shrines |
San Sebastian Cathedral - More than a century-old cathedral made of corals taken from nearby Guimaras Island.
San Diego Church - Basilica type of architectural work located in Silay City.
Palacio Episcopal - Older than the Cathedral, it was built in 1830 at a cost of 10,000 pesos. Located at downtown Bacolod.
The Church of Saint Joseph - A unique church located at the Victorias Compound, with bits of broken soda bottles forming a psychedelic mural depicting Christ and the saints as brown-skinned Filipinos. Once featured in the Life Magazine as the Church of the Angry Christ.
Hacienda Rosalia Chapel - Probably the most nature looking of all Philippine churches, this chapel in Manapla has a facade in the form of a stylized "salakot" made of wood. The walls are made of discarded carabao cartwheels. Usual image of Christ on the cross is modified by a Christ on a cartwheel.
Church of Our Lady of Peace - In the heart of downtown La Carlota is this century old church, a living witness to the devotion of the predominantly catholic La Carlotenos. The church has the distinction of one of the very few churches of Romanesque architectural design in Negros Occidental.
Mural of Birhen Sang Barangay - A large mural mosaic made of various species of shells. A unique work of art found at the Chapel of Sta. Clara.

Historical Sites |
Provincial Capitol - Acclaimed to be the most imposing building in all of Negros, located in front of a park and lagoon. It is the official seat of government of Negros Occidental. This Roman neo-classical building was built in 1931.
Cinco De Noviembre Marker - The spot where the first exchange of shots between the Filipino and Spanish soldiers took place during the one-day revolution on November 5, 1898. This is also the approximate location of the then public square where the northern forces under Gen. Lacson assembled and raised the Philippine flag.
Araneta and Lacson Monuments - In memory of the two great leaders of the Negros revolution.
Hofileña Ancestral House - Houses a collection of rare art pieces, antiques and paintings created by Luna, Rizal and Hidalgo. It is also the venue of the first wood printing in Negros.
Yulo Ancestral House - The residence of Don Alfredo Yulo, mayor of Bacolod at the coming of the World War II.
Ancestral House of Dr. Soriano - Built in 1901, this house was made of hardwood with fine carvings. It served as a hospital during the Japanese occupation.
Ancestral House of Don Mariano Ramos - Home of the late Don Mariano Ramos, first appointed Presidente Municipal of Bacolod.

Mambucal Summer Resort - A 24-hectare mountain resort in Murcia with seven waterfalls, natural swimming pools, hot springs, picnic sheds and lodging facilities.
Mt Kanlaon - This volcano has two craters at the summit. It is home to more than a hundred birds species found only here, including the bleeding heart pigeon and the Negros fruit dove.
Enchanted Isle - A lust tropical islet noted for its fine, white sand beaches and abundant vegetation. Rich in marine life, Isla Puti as it is known in the dialect, is excellent for all types of water sports.
Bulata Island - A 43-hetare islet lying 2 miles off the coast of Cauayan, having white sand beaches and dazzling underwater world rich in marine life. Ranks with the Philippines´ finest for water sports and underwater photography.
Danjugan Island - Three hectares of reserved marine sanctuary, a virtual marine paradise to lovers of the underwater world.
