Churches and Religious Shrines

Basey 17th Century Church - An old, Catholic church, features a watchtower built a decade earlier, established during the Spanish era. Capul Church - A 16th century church and watchtower in Capul Island. 311 kms. away from Allen and a two hour-trip to the island by motorboat.



Major Attractions

Sohoton Caves National Park - Large caves filled with stalactites and stalagmites, an 840-hectare of natural rock formation, natural bridge, waterfalls, virgin forests, caverns and towering cliffs.

Blanca Aurora Falls - Located in San Jorge. A unique place where people can stay inside a cave-like stage under the waterfalls without getting wet.

Gumit Cave - Located in Talalora. A large cave full of stalactites, stalagmites and artifacts of Samar.

Masarang Falls - Located in Brgy. Lokilokon, Wright. Its cascading waterfalls give travelers a cool refreshing shade where they can relax after a cross-county journey.

Mt. Hurao - Located in San Jose de Buan. Mountain scenery abounds with virgin rainforest, long and winding rivers; tropical flora and fauna, multi-colored species of insects, birds, wild boar, wild deer, haven for monkey eating eagle.

Dorosdos Falls - Located in Calbayog City. A seven-layered waterfalls, which could be a good source of hydropower.

Panhulugani, Sohotan and Bugasan III Caves - Part of Sohotan National Park. Three of the biggest and popular caves. These places require travelers to wear skid-proof shoes; come well equipped with a light jacket, flashlight and a huge hamper of food.
