The province of Batangas is popular in many ways. It is widely known for its premium coffee product called "Kapeng Barako" (baraco coffee) and other high-grade varieties. It is a major coffee producer in the country.

Batangas is also the hometown of some of the country's leading nationalists and is endowed with many historical attractions. "Brains of the Katipunan" Apolinario Mabini has a shrine (Mabini Shrine) in Tanauan, which houses the remains and personal belongings of this noted hero. General Malvar Museum and Library in Sto. Tomas serves as a memorial to the last Filipino general who surrendered to America. Casa de Segunda Katigbak was the ancestral home of prominent Batangas family and was named after Jose Rizal’s first love, Segunda Katigbak. There’s also the Jose P. Laurel Library, the Marcela N. Agoncillo Historical Landmark and the Punta de Santiago Lighthouse.

The province is likewise rich in natural resources and scenic spots. Among these are the beaches of Matabungkay, Hugon and Mabuhay. Anilao & Maya Maya on Batangas Bay are places to go for diving, snorkeling, boating, swimming and windsurfing. Mountain climbing and Volcano trekking are also best especially in Mt. Maculot, one of the highest mountains in the province.

Batangas is accessible from neighboring provinces such as Cavite, Laguna and Quezon by land via public buses and jeepneys. Ferryboats and other watercrafts connect the province to Mindoro and other nearby islands. Most of the destinations in the province are accessible by public buses stationed on E. Delos Santos Avenues (EDSA), Pasay City and are about 1-1/2 hours ride away from Manila.
